Charnon Keanchan

Chanond Keanchan is definitively Thailand’s best ever 400 m hurdler. In 1991 he lowered the national record to 50,94 and was 5th at the Asian Championships. In the Olympics 1992 he sat a new national record in his heat, but was unable to advance to the next round. In 1993 he won silver at the Asian Championship with another national record, and he also participated in the World Championships. In 1994 he broke the 50 second barrier for the first time, coming 4th in the Asian Games with a time of 49,89. The year after, he produced another national record, but was disqualified in his heat at the World Championships. Keanchan had a PB of 46,75 at the 400 m and ran on several occations on his country’s 4×400 m team, winning a silver medal at the Asian Games 1994.
