Biography

Esfil Krachevskaya (née Dolzhenko) was the second best Soviet female shot putter in the 1970s behind Nadezhda Chizhova. During her career, which lasted until 1981, Krachevskaya won Olympic silver in 1980, and placed fourth at the 1972 and ninth at the 1976 Olympics. She also won silver at the 1976 European Indoor Championships, silver and bronze at the 1977 and 1979 World Cups, respectively, and silver at the 1975 and 1977 European Cups. She also competed at the 1974 and 1978 European Championships, placing fourth in 1978 and eighth in 1974. Krachevskaya won Soviet titles in 1973, 1975-78 and 1980, while taking silvers in 1974, 1979 and 1981, and a bronze in 1972.
