Belarusian track and field athlete Viktor Belsky competed in the long jump for the Soviet Union from 1976 to 1982. Belsky was a two-time USSR champion and set seven Belarusian records in the event. In 1980 he finished in fifth place at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in West Germany before finishing sixth at the Moskva Olympics. After his retirement from athletics Belsky worked as a coach at the Republican School of Higher Sports Excellence and coached the Belarusian team in Minsk.
