Biography

Linetta Wilson ran the heats of the 4x400 at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, earning a gold medal after the team won the final. Wilson made the team by finishing fifth at the Olympic Trials. She had also competed at the 1988 US Olympic Trials, finishing fourth in the 400 metre hurdles. Wilson ran in college at the University of Nebraska. At the NCAA Meet she won the 400 hurdles in 1987 and was second in 1988-89. She was eighth in the open 400 at the 1987 NCAAs.

In 2000 Wilson was charged with conspiracy to ship prescription cold medicine with codeine. She had pleaded innocent but was convicted in 2003, and eventually spent one year in jail. She returned to competition in 2005, but with no major results.

Personal Best: 400 – 51.02 (1996).
