Biography
Clarke Beard was named to the 1908 Olympic Team although he did not place in the top three at any of the four U.S. Olympic trials held that year. He ran for Iowa State. Beard later worked for the Iowa State Highway Commission, and also worked in Des Moines for the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
