Biography

Sam Bellah competed in the pole vault at the 1908 and 1912 Olympics, and also competed in the long jump and triple jump in 1908. He was AAU pole vault champion in 1911 and 1915. Bellah competed for Stanford and the Olympic Club of San Francisco in 1908, but later in his career represented Multnomah AC of Portland, Oregon. Bellah settled on the Rogue River in southern Oregon, where he had a ranch on which he raised brown Swiss cattle.
