Biography

After placing fifth in the 800 m at the Tokyo Olympics, Tom Farrell improved to take the bronze medal in Mexico with a career best of 1:45.4. While at St. John’s he won the NCAA in 1964 and 1965, and the AAU title in 1966. He also won the British AAA 800 m in 1965; he also set an indoor 880y record with 1:49.8 that year. Farrell later became an account executive with the Xerox Corp.

Personal Bests: 400 – 46.6y (1965); 800 – 1:45.46 (1968).
