Biography

Erv Hall set an Olympic record of 13.3 in winning the first semi-final in Mexico, but in the final he could not match Willie Davenport’s superb start, and Davenport went on to take the gold medal in a time which matched Hall’s semi-final clocking. While attending Villanova, Hall won three IC4A high hurdle titles in 1967-69. Hall was the 1969 NCAA Champion in the 120 yard Hurdles, a meet at which he equaled the world record of 13.2. He was second at the 1968 NCAAs and third in 1967.
