Mike Spring won the 1904 Boston Marathon after placing third in that event in 1903. He competed for the Pastime AC of New York. Spring graduated from a technical institute and worked for the Edison Company designing powerhouses. After work, he trained by running home over the newly constructed Brooklyn Bridge.
