Biography

Ed Glover entered Purdue in January 1903, but did not graduate. He later competed for the Chicago AA, winning the 1905 AAU pole vault. At the 1906 Olympics he could not repeat the form he had shown at home and placed third behind the world record holder, Fernand Gonder (FRA), and Bruno Söderström of Sweden. Glover later became a lawyer in Lake County, Indiana, and served two terms as mayor of Crown Point, Indiana (1921-29). He also did public service as secretary of the Crown Point Republican Central Committee and as deputy county recorder in 1920.
