Biography

Austrian alpine skier Grete Nissl placed 13th in the alpine combined at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. This event was the only alpine event held at Garmisch. At the Austrian nationals that same year she finished second in both the alpine combination and downhill.

Nissl married staff surgeon Hubert Salcher, was also SS-Hauptsturmführer, in 1937. Nissl was also known as a loyal Nazi party member. She ran Café Max at Innsbruck
