Biography

The high point of Dagmar Švubová’s career was probably the 1984 Olympics, when she, Blanka Paulů, Gabriela Svobodová and Květa Jeriová won a surprising silver medal in the relay. During her career, Švubová competed at two Olympic Games (1980/1984) and three World Championships (1978, 1982, 1985), her best individual finish at those tournaments being 12th in 5 km at the 1982 World Championships. Švubová also won the 5 km race at the 1978 Holmenkollen Ski Festival and 10 km race at the 1978 Lahti Ski Games (under her maiden name Palečková). She is married to former Czechoslovakian cross-country skier Jiří Švub.
