Biography

In addition to her two Olympic silver medals in 1972 and 1976, Ute Rührold was European Champion in 1972. At the World Championships, she placed second in 1973 and 1975, with a third-place finish in 1974. Rührold married handball player Wolfgang Böhme, although they later divorced. She later made her living as a tourism manager in the area of Rostock.
