Biography

Skadi, mother of future short tracker Bianca Walter, finished fifth in the 500 metres at the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. At the 1983 Speed Skating Worlds she also achieved her best result with a fifth place. Domestically, Walter won two silvers and one bronze medal at East German nationals.

Personal Bests: 500 – 40.78 (1983); 1000 – 1:21.52 (1985); 1500 – 2:13.8 (1981); 3000 – 4:48.3 (1981).
