Biography

Giampaolo Ambrosi was an Italian luger. During his career he participated in the Winter Olympic Games at Innsbruck in 1964, where he placed 15th in the single and fifth in the double with Giovanni Graber.

Ambrosi also took part in several editions of the Luge World Championships, winning a gold medal in the doubles event with Graber at Krynica in 1962. His best finish in the single event was 14th at Davos in 1965. Domestically, Ambrosi won two singles titles, in 1959 and 1963. In honor of his sporting achievements, Ambrosi was awarded a gold medal by the Italian Olympic Committee.
