Biography

Eric Burman was an ice hockey forward who played from 1919-40 with Göta IK, but had a few games from 1921-23 with Berliner SC in Germany and in 1923/24 was with Antwerpen SC in Belgium. After the 1924 Winter Olympics he lived in in Youngstown, Ohio in the United States, playing in Detroit and with the Minneapolis Street Runners. He also worked as a hockey instructor in Finland in 1932 and 1935. Burman played bandy for Sweden and won a Swedish Championship in that sport in 1929.

In addition to competing at the 1924 Chamonix Winter Olympics Burman skated at the 1921-23 European Championships, helping Sweden win gold in 1921 and silver in 1922. Burman also played bandy for Göta IK. In all he was capped in hockey 37 times, and won three Swedish league titles in 1923 and 1929-30. In 1932 Burman was voted the greatest Swedish right wing. He is a member of the Swedish Hockey Hall of Fame.
