Per Dahl played ice hockey in Norway either side of World War II where he won four league titles. Dahl played as both a defender and a forward in his early days before settling as a goaltender for most of his career. He played for the Norwegian national team from 1948 to 1952, winning bronze at the 1951 European Ice Hockey Championships in Paris and finishing eighth at the 1952 Oslo Olympics.
