Biography

Gordi Eaton skied for Middlebury College, winning the 1961 NCAA downhill championship. He competed for the US at the 1960 Winter Olympics and the 1962 World Championships. Eaton later helped coach the 1968 US Olympic alpine ski team and married US ski team member Karen Budge. Together they started Gordi’s, a small restaurant off the Kancamagus Highway in Lincoln, New Hampshire. In the movie “Downhill Racer,” the character of the assistant coach was based on Eaton.
