Biography

Defender François Franck was member of the Belgian ice hockey team at three Olympics (1920, 1924 1928), but did not play in 1920. He also appeared in the European Championships 1924 and 1925 and three World Championships – 1933-35. At the 1933 World Championships he had to step in as a goalie against Romania for a few minutes when Hector Chotteau was hit in the face by the puck, and Franck conceded two goals. After playing for Le Puck he joined CPA, both in Antwerpen. His younger brother Louis, born in 1905, also played for Belgium at the 1926 and 1927 Europeans and the 1934 World Championships. His brother Ludovic “Louis” won two medals at the 1924 and 1927 European Championships and represented Belgium in Olympic sailing in 1928 and 1948.
