Biography

Rainer Groß was an East German cross-country skier who came in 18th over 50 km at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics for his best Olympic finish. He also finished 26th in the 15 km event. Groß won East German titles at 10 km in 1967, over 30 km in 1973, and with the SC Dynamo Klingenthal 4x10 km relay in 1967, 1969, 1971 and 1974.
