Biography

Rob Harris grew up in Roseau, Minnesota, and later played for the University of Minnesota. Harris helped them win the 1974 NCAA Championship and took them to the final game in 1975. Harris’s brother, John, also played hockey for Minnesota, and was MVP of the 1974 Frozen Four. He briefly played minor league hockey on Cape Cod, but turned professional in golf, and played on the PGA Tour from 1976-77. He resumed amateur golf, won the 1993 US Amateur Championship, played on several Walker Cup teams, and later returned to the pros on the US Champions Tour.
