Biography

Chris Hastings was US Champion on the normal hill in 1985 and 1987. He competed twice at the World Winter University Games, placing sixth on normal hill in 1985, and winning a silver in the team event in 1989. He later became a ski jumping coach for the New York Ski Education Foundation, and with the Ford-Sayre Memorial Ski Council in Hanover, New Hampshire. Hastings has also done announcing for television ski jumping events. He attended the University of Vermont. His brother, Jeff Hastings, was a member of the 1984 US Olympic ski jumping team who finished fourth on the large hill, the best modern finish internationally by a US ski jumper.
