Biography

Larry Donald was US Champion at super-heavyweight in 1991 and won the National Golden Gloves title in 1989 and 1990. Donald competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, losing in the quarter-finals, and then turned professional in January 1993. Donald had a reasonable career in the pro ranks, with 42 wins (24 by KO), 5 losses, and 3 draws, but he never fought for a title. He competed in several title eliminator bouts but never advanced to the title fight. Donald did win a 2004 match against aging veteran Evander Holyfield, the biggest name win of his career. Donald fought mostly on undercards, as he was not popular with the press or the fans due to his highly-defensive and unentertaining style.
