Biography

David A. Jensen was no relation to his 1984 Olympic teammate David H. Jensen. David A. was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the first round, #20 overall, of the 1983 NHL entry draft, and joined the Whalers after the 1984 Winter Olympics. But he played only 13 games with the Whalers before being traded to the Washington Capitals. He played for the Caps in the NHL from 1985-1988. Jensen also played for the US at the 1985 Canada Cup. He played for various minor league clubs in the AHL and IHL, mostly the Binghamton Whalers, but also the Fort Wayne Komets, and Maine Mariners. Jensen spent one season playing in Europe, with SG Cortina in Italy.
