Biography

The youngest of five children, Tadeusz Kilanowicz was born in Nowy Targ in 1940. A technically skilled player, Kilanowicz represented the Nowy Targ ice hockey team for all his career. He played in 306 league matches for the side and scored 183 goals, winning the Polish league title in 1966 and 1969. Throughout the 1960s he also played in 76 games for the national team, including competing at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. Sadly, however, Kilanowicz suffered with a heart condition that almost certainly contributed to his premature death at the age of 39 in July 1979.
