Biography

Mike Lafferty skied for the University of Colorado, graduating in 1971. At Colorado he was NCAA downhill champion in 1969 and made All-American twice. A pure speed skier, he competed on the World Cup circuit from 1969-73, with two podium finishes in downhills, and 11 downhill top 10s. He later had a brief career on the pro ski tour. Lafferty returned home to manage SnoTemp, a subsidiary of the family business, R. E. Lafferty & Sons, in Eugene, Oregon.
