Biography

Mel Lister was a horizontal jumper who competed in the long jump at the 2000 Olympics and the triple jump at the 2004 Olympics. Lister competed in college at the University of Arkansas. He also competed at the 1996 World Junior Championships, the 2001 World Indoor Championships, and the 2003 Pan American Games, all in the long jump. On world lists Lister ranked #2 for the year in the long jump in 2000, with his personal best of 8.49 metres, and #2 in the triple jump in 2004, with his PB of 17.78
