Biography

Elva Dryer was an American distance runner who ran the 5,000 metres at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 10,000 metres at the 2004 Athina Olympics, where she finished 19th. She also competed at the World Championships in 1999 and 2001, running the 5K, and 2003, where she ran the 10K.

Dryer went to college at Western Colorado University, winning seven NCAA D-2 national championships individually, and helped Western Colorado in an NAIA team championship in cross-country. She later turned to road running, recording her best marathon time at the 2006 Chicago Marathon with 2-31:48.

Personal Bests: 5000 – 15:03.56 (2001); 10000 – 31:21.92 (2005); Half-Mara – 1-11:42 (2007); Mara – 2-31:48 (2006).
