Biography

Agostino Lanfranchi competed in skeleton and bobsledding at the 1928 and 1932 Winter Olympics. In his youth, he played football for Italian first league team Brescia Calcio. He also participated in moor car and later motor boat races and was involved in establishing competitions in Venice and Turin. He came from a family of clothing manufacturers who moved to London to enhance business in 1913. In World War I, Agostino served in a motorcycle squadron. He returned to England before being forced to return to Italy after the outbreak of World War II. Agostino Lanfranchi designed buttons and belt buckles for ladies’ fashion, and spent his final year on the island of Capri.
