Biography

Neville Pratt played first base for various Western Australia clubs in the 1950s, byut was primarily known for his time with Nedlands Baseball Club. He represented the Western Australian State Team from 1949, 1955-57, 1961-62, and 1968, and managed the team in 1970. He was on the Australian National Team in 1956 and 1962, and played in the Australian Olympic demonstration game.

Pratt later became prominent in Australian Baseball administration and was President of the Australian Baseball Federation from 1987-98. He was also Vice-President of the Baseball Federation of Asia, President of the Oceanian Baseball Federation, and Vice-President of the International Baseball Federation.

His career was as managing director of the Promark Group, a fruit and vegetable distributorship. For his service to baseball Neville was awarded an Order of Australia Medal, Order of Merit from the Confederation of Australian Sports, Order of Merit from the West Australian Sports Federation, and Administrator of the Year from the International Baseball Federation.
