Biography

Stanley Williamson was a center on the West Team who played for Southern Cal, captaining the Trojans as they won the 1931 national championship. Williamson later became a well-known football coach. He started at Classen High School in Oklahoma, and then became head coach at Oklahoma City University. He was the line coach from 1935-39 at Kansas State, and then the line coach in 1940 at Oklahoma. Williamson was best known for his time at UC Santa Barbara. He was the head coach there from 1941-48 and 1952-55. He later served as the athletic director at Santa Barbara from 1962-65. Williamson died in August 1965 in Santa Barbara from a malignant brain tumor
