Biography

Jeff Agoos was a defender who played in college at the University of Virginia. He played at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and was on the 1996 US Olympic team but did not play. On the US National Team from 1988-2003, Agoos earned 134 international caps. He helped the US win the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2002, and was a runner-up at that tournament in 1998.

Professionally, Agoos started his career in 1991 with the Maryland Bays, and also played indoor soccer with the Dallas Sidekicks. He later played for the Los Angeles Salsa in 1994, and then played in Europe with SV Wehen from 1994-95, before returning to MLS and playing with DC United from 1996-2000. Agoos joined the San Jose Earthquakes in 2001, staying with them through 2004, and then played one final season with the MetroStars.
