Biography

Under the pen name L. A. Montal, Louis Alexandre Despeyroux was a French writer and graphic artist, who later worked mainly as an illustrator. His most famous books were the collection of poems “Prières à Myotis” from 1921 and “Paris, la ville aux cent visages” from 1948, which he illustrated himself. Despeyroux represented France in 1924 with the poem “Sur les cimes” and the novel “Arcamba”.
