Steven Maher attended the University of Illinois on a gymnastic scholarship but later turned his athletic talents to luge. He won the 1988 US Championship in doubles with Joe Barile and slid for the US at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Maher eventually won three US championships and competed internationally for six years. Steven Maher later went into real estate sales and development, first with Edward R. James Homes, than as a Senior Vice-President of Garrison Partners. Finally, Maher formed his own group, Maher Partners, LLC, a real estate sales and marketing firm.
