Szabolcs Horváth was an architect from Budapest, where he ran an architecture firm and constructed several public buildings during the Horthy era in the 1930s and early 1940s. Best known are the Mátyás Rákosi Culture House (today József Attila Community Centre) and the movie theatre of the Pongrác Road housing estate. He also drafted a new planning of the area close to the chain bridge on the Buda bank of the Danube. His style has been described as post-Bauhaus Classicism.
