Biography

Italian painter Felice Ludovisi arrived in Roma at age 15, and his artistic talents were nurtured there, when he attended the Faculty of Architecture. His career was complex and multifaceted, constantly experimenting with new techniques and colors. He painted everyday objects in an abstract style, and often received public commissions. Ludovisi received the Gold Medal of Merit of Culture and Art. He worked as a set designer for the Teatro dell’Opera in Roma, taught and directed the Academy of Fine Arts in Roma until 1984, directed the Academies of Foggia and Frosinone, and was a professor at Finch College Museum of Art in New York. In addition, Ludovisi devoted himself to religious art and designed several churches. For his entry in the 1948 art competitions in London titled L’ultimo corsa he received the National Prize of the Italian Olympic Committee.
