Pyotr Timofeyev, representing the Narva Sports Club from St. Petersburg, was entered in four long-distance running events at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm but did not compete in any. He achieved notable success a year later at the first All-Russian Olympiad in Kyiv. Timofeyev won bronze in the 10,000 m race and shared bronze with Snimshchikov with whom he crossed the finish line hand-in-hand.
