Austrian cross-country skier Hias Noichl took part in the 1948 St. Moritz and 1952 Oslo Winter Olympics. On both occasions, he competed in the 18 km cross-country and finished 45th and 28th respectively. Noichl won seven national titles; five with the Tyrol relay in 1948-51 and 1953-54, and an individual one over 16 km in 1950.

Noichl became far better known as a mountaineer and mountain guide. He undertook several first ascents in the Alps. He was also chairman of the Association of Austrian Mountain and Ski Guides and the International Association of Mountain Guide Associations.
