Biography

Håkan Nordin started his hockey career with Mora IK from 1977-80. From 1980-88 he played with Färjestad BK and won Swedish titles with them in 1981, 1986 and 1988. From 1988-92, Nordin played with Västra Frölunda HC and then finished his career with Arvika HC, where he played from 1992-93. Although Nordin was drafted by the St. Louis Blues of the NHL in 1981, he never played in North America.

As a senior international, Nordin made his only appearance at the 1984 Olympic Games, where he won a bronze medal. As a junior, Nordin had won gold at the 1981 and bronze at the 1980 World Junior Championships, and was selected to the 1981 World Junior Championships all-star team. After retiring from hockey, Nordin worked as a coach with Grums IK for a while, but later became a salesman with Nya Wermlands-Tidningen, a local newspaper distributed in the Swedish provinces of Värmland, Dalsland and western Dalarna.
