Biography

Across 13 seasons Jerzy Ogórczyk played in 289 matches in the Polish ice hockey league, scoring 127 goals. Ogórczyk began his career with Górnik Katowice in 1950, playing for the team throughout the decade and winning two league titles (1958, 1960). In 1961 he joined Baildon Katowice where he stayed until his retirement. With the Polish national team he played in 51 matches, competing at three World Championships and the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics. After his playing career Ogórczyk worked in electrical wiring, eventually moving to Germany.
