Biography

Bill Olson ski jumped for the USA at the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics. He competed for the University of Denver, winning three consecutive NCAA ski jumping championships from 1954-56. Olson won the 1958 US Championship, but he moved to the veteran’s class in 1965, winning the US Veteran’s ski jump title in 1965, 1966, and 1968.

Olson settled initially in Wisconsin where he worked at Wood Motor Company and Bertelsons in Eau Claire, and also served as an Eau Claire County Clerk and city finance director. He and his family later moved to Medford, Oregon where he served as city finance director, and then Banning, California, where he held the same position and also was controller of Luther Hospital.
