Swiss ice hockey player Hans Pappa joined HC Davos in 1953 when he was 17-years-old and remained at the club for most of his career. Pappa was one of the players who helped the team to celebrate its glory days during the decade before it suffered a decline in the 1960s. With the team he won the Swiss championship in 1958 and 1960, in addition to finishing runners-up on three occasions (1956, 1957, 1959) and winning two editions of the Spengler Cup (1957, 1958).
Pappa also made more than 50 appearances for the national team, playing at five World Championships. In 1956 he was part of the Swiss team that competed at the Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics, playing in four matches. By 1963 he had a brief spell as a player-coach with Uzwil, before returning to Davos. After a change of coaching personal at the club that introduced new methods of playing, Pappa called time on his career in 1967.
