Biography

Steve Sertich played hockey for Roosevelt High School in Virginia and then for Colorado College. Prior to playing for the US National Team in 1975-76, he played in the German Bundesliga in 1975-75 with Füssen EV. After the Winter Olympics, Sertich returned to Germany, playing for Nuremburg EHC in 1978-80. But he was primarily a coach. He started coaching in 1976 as the head coach at Northfield High School in Minnesota. In 1982-83 he was as an assistant at his alma mater, Colorado College. From 1993-2006 he was head coach at Roseville Area High School in Minnesota, first with the boys’ and later with the girls’ teams. In 2006, Sertich was named head women’s coach at Bemidji State.
