Biography

Jonkheer Edwin Teixeira de Mattos came from a noble family with Portuguese roots. His father Henry was a banker. Edwin worked as a Legal Secretary at the Netherlands Government Information Service. In 1928 in St. Moritz he was the first Dutch flagbearer at the Olympic Winter Games. His sister Marie-Louise was grootmeesteres (a chief protocol officer) for Dutch Queen Juliana.
