Biography

Michael Tritscher started out skiing all disciplines but only reached international success when he focused on slalom. He won three World Cup slaloms in his career, with 12 podiums, all in slalom. His Olympic bronze medal in 1992 at Albertville was also won in the slalom. Two of his World Cup wins came in 1995 and he was second in the slalom World Cup for the 1994-95 season. Tritscher’s career ended early because of injuries. Although trained as a merchant, he became a ski instructor and ski guide at the Skihandelsschule Schladming.
