K’oba Ts’akadze won his first Soviet title in the ski jump in 1953, with his next two victories coming in the Olympic years of 1956 and 1960. In those years, he finished joint-30th and ninth respectively in the large hill at the Games. He captured a third Soviet title in 1962 and also had his best finish, fifth, at the World Championships that year. Although he would have to wait until 1969 for his next victory at the Soviet championships, he did attend the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics, where he was 27th in the large hill. His final Soviet title and Olympic appearance both came in 1972, and at the Sapporo Games he was ninth in the normal hill and 35th in the large hill.
During his career, Ts’akadze won events at the Four Hills Tournament in 1956 (Innsbruck) and 1961 (Garmisch-Partenkirchen). He retired after the Olympics and worked as an international ski jumping referee. His son, Kakha, competed in ski jumping at the Games in 1994, 1998, and 2002.
