Biography

Gaston Van Volxem played ice hockey as a defenseman at the 1920 Olympics and the 1924 Winter Olympics. He also skated four times at the European Championships, in 1913, 1923, 1925, and 1927, winning gold in 1913 and silver in 1927. He started his career in 1912 with Bruxelles IHC, but moved to Bruxelles CPB in 1913 and played with them to the end of his career in 1927, except for the 1923/24 season, when he was with Antwerpen CPA. Van Volxem was a fast skater and also competed in speedskating, winning 12 Belgian distance titles from 1912-14.
