Biography

Raoul Weckbecker came from a family of pharmacists, but represented Luxemburg in the rare combination of bobsleigh and alpine skiing. At the 1928 Winter Olympics he was a member of Marc Schoetter’s 5-man bob. Eight years later, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, he piloted a 2-man bob with Géza Wertheim as his brakeman. At the same Olympics, Weckbecker also competed in alpine skiing but withdrew from the combined event after the downhill part.
