Sport and Law Commission [Edit]

The Sport and Law Commission was formed in 1996 with Judge Kéba Mbaye as its first chairman. The chairman as of 2010 was future IOC President Thomas Bach (GER). It consists of one other International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, along with representatives of the National Olympic Committees and International Federations, three athletes, and several independent members who act as legal consultants. The commission was disbanded in the early 2010s and its functions subsumed with the Legal Affairs Commission.
