The individual French archery championship consisted of two separate events with the overall title decided by the total score in the two events. The overall event was won by Henri Hérouin of the Compagnie de Couilly (Seine-Marne), who scored 31 points in the first section, and 22 in the second section, for a winning total of 53. Second place went to M. Lecomte of the 2éme Compagnie de Champigny, who scored 25 in section one, and 23 in section two, for a total of 48 points. Hérouin also won two gold medals in the 1900 archery competition considered as Olympic events. Lecomte also competed in those events, placing 8th in the au cordon doré event at 50 metres.
